Lobster Clam BakeEvents for the Chamber Members and the Community
One of the highlights of every Branford Summer is the Chamber’s Annual Lobster Clambake at the Owenego INN. Drawing over 300 people, this event features a typical New England Dinner featuring Corn on the Cobb, Lobster, Steamers Clam Chowder and more! (For those that do not eat lobster there is a steak or vegetarian option as well as a light fare plan.) Be entertained by bands and DJs, win raffles and bid on magnificent silent auction gifts…as you border beautiful Long Island Sound.

At this time The Chamber Community has the opportunity to recognize the many individuals, committees and Businesses who play such an important role in the Chamber or the Community. Those individuals on the planning committee have consistently been highly creative in creating an evening that is enjoyable for everyone. Recent Keynote speakers at the event have included, Ann Nyberg, President Steven Kaplan of University of New Haven, Senator Richard Blumenthal, Dr. Henry Lee and Dr. Mel. Recipients of the many awards given out that night are comprised of a committee of former award winners and the planning committee.

Thanks to the Blackstone LibraryInteractive Murder-Mystery Theatre featuring real dancing horses-singing cowboys- amazing silent auction items ,beverages and food from 12 different Branford area restaurants and all for $30! Who could ask for more! A prime example of the creative thought process that came directly from our membership. A simple idea that was surfaces as an idea and grew from a seed of an idea into a fantastic program ! This is one of the real values of the Branford Chamber. Willing to undertake new projects, experiment and take risks. Each year is different and no idea is considered a bad one. Join on one of these groups and meet some great people, utilize your creativity and realize the wonderful feeling of having produced something special for the community, the Chamber and a worthy cause! | |
